The images found here in the Horse Photography Gallery are a collection from around the world, many from Utah including the wild horses of the Onaqui Herd. This along with several other herds of wild horses are managed by the Bureau of Land Management.
“The Onaqui Herd Management Area (HMA) is located 40 miles southwest of Salt Lake City and encompasses 43,880 acres. The HMA extends from Johnsons Pass south to Look Out Pass. Stock reservoirs and intermittent streams fed by winter snows and spring runoff provide adequate water for the herd. Wild horses have occupied the Onaqui Mountains since the late 1800s.”
